Why yacht training through us?

We have guided monohulls and multihulls of various sizes over the years, in many areas of the world. As instructors, permanent skippers, on deliveries, regattas or team training. Much of what we needed for this, we could take from the training of the DSV (German Sailing Association) or the RYA, but only practice provides real security.

Do you get wet hands when you come to the port? Or when you sail out?

During our skipper trainings or assisted deliveries we pass on our practical experience to you, even if you already have a license in your pocket. It’s a training program that meets you where you are. If necessary, we practice harbour maneuvers and we’ll discuss them until you get the hang of it: Docking in a crosswind, casting off alongside from a gas station, working with the wheel effect, working with springs – you only need one line….

Do you want to go on a long trip?

Or you go on a cruise and we practice procedures that are essential for safe navigation: Where do I get the best wind and wave information? What strategies do I choose for an upcoming offshore passage, taking into account weather conditions and tides (“passage planning”). How do I find my steering course? When to reef? Correct rigg trim. Position with the sextant (Noonsite) . Code Zero. Genaker training. Spinnaker Training. Timely decisions and commands, crew leadership, dealing with anxiety, seasickness. Radio communications, anchoring techniques. Engine. Energy management in practice. Troubleshooting using the exclusion method. When and how do I correctly avoid a cargo ship? How to use radar and AIS wisely. How do I call at a port only under sail? How do I react in the event of a maritime emergency? EDP on board. How do I organize a daily routine for long hawl?

Benefit from the experience of many deliveries and trainings.

For our own safety, we know how to quickly teach safe yacht handling. We do this sometimes as sailing instructors, but much more often to find partners at sea in people willing to learn, on whom we can rely.

Whether you are sailing on the Baltic Sea or in the Mediterranean or want to cross the Bay of Biscay – we get you fit for the sea.

Training by professionals

You get a program that responds to your needs.
Together, we select the topics that will move you forward.

  • worldwide – we coach you where you want, on your own ship or on a foreign one.

  • Individual training – also preparation for practical exams or long trip.

  • Participate in delivery trips – come along and learn from us in practice!
  • Training areas (selection)

Women often act differently, wanting to approach maneuvers with more control, being more conscientious, more cautious – sometimes even more inhibited.  We offer training by professional skippers and sailing instructors aimed at making women safe in practice at sea and in port. Practice is either on your private yacht or on a chartered yacht. Individual training or group bookings (maximum 4 participants) are possible.

Basics, boating technique, safety, commands, preparation for casting off, line technique, line tricks, maneuvering in tight spaces, working with/without bow thruster, mooring lines, alongside, strategies in strong winds.
Coastal navigation day/night, safety, I-Pad, electronics, AIS, radar, fishermen, cardinal buoys, general. Behavior in traffic, crossing fairways, approach, Radio, tides, terrestrial navigation, anchorage selection, anchoring, bearing, fairway, weather, etc.

Correct rig trim/check, correct sail trim by wind threads, reefing downwind, reefing downwind, setting correct twist, hole points, traveler rails. Genacker, Code Zero, Spinnaker, etc.

Passage planning, watch systems, crew management on long voyages, weather forecasts, satellite radio, VTG’s, midday latitude, daily life on board

Only practice brings safety. We help people at sea and in port to make the right decisions.

Skipper training on charter yacht “Round Rügen (Germany) “

“Thank you again for the wonderful days under the expert and relaxed direction. It was already a small risk to order a skipper without prior personal contact via the Internet. But fortunately that worked out first class!”

    Gebhard E., Germany

Skipper training on Hanse 455, from Flensburg/Baltic Sea

It was unfortunately too short; only 2 days at sea with you, but still learned a lot. What I liked very much is the way you pass on your broad knowledge. You certainly have the ideal psychological conditions to train people at sea, which is not always easy.I hope we can enjoy the Baltic Sea together again!  Best regards Jules

October/November 2017: Transfer of trimaran Dragonfly 35, Flensburg to Gran Canaria, 2,600
Our trip with Stefan was great – a great skipper and super friendly! We felt very safe with him and he was also always very careful to make sure everything fit for us. We have learned super much in the three days (especially in the upwind weather situation). Thumbs up and happy to return next time!
