Owner & Skipper

is a professional skipper for private owners, travel companies, sailing schools and corporations on yachts from 20 to 120 feet. He has now skippered over 70 different yachts, including quite a few long hauls in many cruising grounds around the world. He holds the German Ocean License (SHS), a Yachtmaster Offshore, and in 2013 became the first non-Englishman to be named Yachtmaster-Of-The-Year by the Royal Yachting Association. Lately, he has mostly been ferrying ships in the Atlantic, giving skipper training or planning and managing cruises in his own company. Here is an article from YACHT  (8/2024) about him.

Skipper & Backoffice

started as a regatta sailor in a dingy at the age of 8 and never recovered from the sailing virus. Thomas is now an integral part part of the Yachtskipper team. He advises our customers and is responsible for the weather routing of our offshore teams in the back office. As an administrator at Yachtskipper  he is responsible for the technical implementation of the internet presence of our multilingual websites. But most importantly, he is a skipper and coach himself. In 2021, it was many thousands of miles, mainly with catamarans on the demanding Atlantic route.  

Skipper & Techniker

Peer is an enthusiastic sailor who, after various activities in sailing schools, found his professional home port with us and has been part of the regular crew since 2020. Peer was able to acquire extensive, technical skills in the field of ship electrics and propulsion as an active member of the German Rescue Fleet. Privately Peer lives and travels, together with his partner, almost “full time” on their own yacht in the various European areas.  In addition to the various German Licenses he holds the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore

Skipper & Backoffice

Holger has been infected with the sailing virus since 2003, initially on charter trips in the Mediterranean and the Baltic Sea, and since 2010 with his own yacht in the Netherlands and in Western and Northern Europe. He speaks fluent Dutch, was a professional soldier in the German Armed Forces until 2016 and has now been sailing for us as skipper since 2017. The “home stretch” he refers to is between France and the Baltic Sea. However, in 2023 he also skippered a large offshore trip (Azores-Elbe). His experience and affability are highly valued among the crews. When he is not at sea, he contributes to data maintenance in the Yachtskipper back office and advises owners on questions about passages and technology.

Back office & accounting

Özlem has become an integral part of the Yachtskipper team. She is also happy to be on board for ferry trips, but otherwise takes care of the proper bookkeeping in the company and keeps an eye on the planning software. At trade shows she can be found at our booth and in the back office she is the contact person when all skippers are offshore.
